“Meet The Instruments Night” and parent meeting will be held Tuesday April 21st from 6-7:00pm at Strayer Middle School. This event is for any student who might like to learn a musical instrument next year in the band and orchestra program! (Current band and orchestra students do not need to attend this event unless you are considering learning a new instrument.)

At "Meet the Instruments Night" your child will get to try out their top 3 instrument choices before you enroll in the program and get an instrument for them. Parents will also learn more about the QCSD band and orchestra program, get to meet the teachers, learn about instrument rentals, and ask any questions.

You must pre-register for this event, so we will know our anticipated attendance and can provide the correct amount of supplies (mouthpieces, reeds, etc.).

Please click the link below to register:

*Registering for “Meet The Instruments Night” does not enroll your child in the program. It simply allows the students an opportunity to try out the instruments before you rent, purchase, or borrow an instrument.

If you have questions, please contact your school’s music teacher. Visit qcsd.org/music and click the CONTACT page to find their contact information.

There’s an instrument for everyone, we just need to find the right fit for your child!

The students and families of Pfaff Elementary have gone above and beyond to help fight childhood hunger. Over the past month, they collected cereal boxes to donate to the Bean Bag Food Program.

The goal was 100 boxes…

Our Pfaff community exceeded expectations! Thank you for your generosity and support of others—what an incredible sight in the lobby.

Every student and family should feel extremely Pfaff Proud!

Happy Read Across America Week!

Thank you to Pfaff Elementary 3rd grader, Cambrea for sharing her book recommendation, "Dear Dumb Diary: Let’s Pretend This Never Happened,” by Jim Benton.

“I want to recommend this book because it’s really funny! The main character plays outside with her dog, Stinker, and likes to play pretend. But the funniest part is that the book is her diary, and you need permission to read it. She even sets up traps for the reader.”

Thank you, Cambrea, for sharing this story with us, and keep up the great work!

Today, we would like to thank Jasmine, a Pfaff fifth grader, for sharing her book recommendation, “Tuck Everlasting,” by Natalie Babbitt. A fantasy novel about the Tuck Family and Winnie Foster – who discover they can achieve immortality by drinking from a magical spring.

!SPOILER ALERT!

When asked what her favorite part of the story was, Jasmine replied, “I like how Winnie cared for a toad with the magic water. That helped her decide not to drink the water and live forever.”

Thank you, Jasmine for sharing this magical book with us!

Happy Read Across America Week! Throughout the week, students at Pfaff Elementary will be sharing and recommending their favorite books as part of the celebration.

Today, we want to thank fifth-grader Amina for sharing her book recommendation, “Dork Diaries 16: Tales from a Not-So-Bratty Little Sister,” by Rachel Renee Russell.

Amina shared that the book is told from the perspective of the “not-so-bratty little sister.” She recommends it because it’s interesting and fun to see what Brianna, the little sister, writes in her older sister, Nikki’s diary. The book is super dramatic and packed with humor. Nikki is dealing with school, her friends, and a huge scandal when her sister gets hold of her diary and phone. It’s a nonstop, funny read, and if you have a younger sibling, this book is for you!

Thank you, Amina, for this wonderful recommendation and for helping us celebrate Read Across America Week!
