QCSD’s Dr. Matthew Friedman Joins Advisory Committee for
National Network of Superintendents

[Quakertown, Pennsylvania, February, 7, 2025] – Global education nonprofit Digital Promise announced Tuesday, February 5, 2025 that Dr. Matthew Friedman has joined the Advisory Committee of the League of Innovative Schools (the League), a national network of school districts at the forefront of education innovation. Dr. Friedman is one of nine members of the Advisory Committee, which helps to shape the strategic direction of the League by connecting directly with members and drawing from their own experience as a superintendent.

“The Advisory Committee is critical in ensuring that the League provides tailored support, relevant professional learning, and cutting-edge resources that respond directly to our members’ needs,” said Jillian Doggett, director of network support at Digital Promise. “As superintendents themselves, our Advisory Committee members can provide first-hand insights into the challenges that districts face day-to-day and the support that is needed to help create innovative solutions. We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Matthew Friedman to this important group of advisors.”

In this role, Dr. Friedman will serve for a minimum of three years, during which time, he will participate in regular calls led by Digital Promise, attend in-person meetings to provide input on program design, recommend prospective members to the League, and offer guidance on the network’s policies and procedures.

Since 2011, the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools has convened and supported the most forward-thinking leaders in K-12 education. The League represents more than 150 districts in 34 states and has served more than 4.4 million students since its founding. Their diverse experiences reflect the advancements, challenges, and vital work of public education in the United States.

Led by Dr. Friedman, Quakertown Community School District (QCSD) has been a member of the League of Innovative Schools since 2024. QCSD was chosen based on their educational leadership, demonstrated commitment to equity and excellence, innovative vision for learning, key achievements, and collaborative spirit. In addition, members of the cohort are chosen for the engagement with their communities and families around strategic planning, taking a holistic approach to student mental health and well-being, preparing high school students for a changing workforce, and more.

“When we were welcomed into the League of Innovative Schools in 2024; it was a true testament to the dedication our faculty and administration have for our students and community,” said Dr. Matthew Friedman. “I share this honor with our entire district, and look forward to being a part of the League Advisory Committee. Working alongside fellow forward thinking superintendents to create innovative initiatives to help students thrive.”

Digital Promise works at the intersection of education leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs and developers to improve learning with the power of technology.
